Abstract:

Strontium doped bismuth ferrite is prepared by the customary solid-state route. Rietveld refinement analysis using GSAS – II shows that the X-ray diffraction pattern crystallizes in Pm-3m phase. The maximum entropy method (MEM) is used to fabricate the electron density mapping to determine the type of bonding between Fe - O and Bi/Sr - O ions in the Bi0.6Sr0.4FeO3 system. The localized structure deviating the long-range ordering of Bi0.6Sr0.4FeO3 is analyzed using atomic pair distribution function (PDF). The interaction between the chemical bonding and the magnetoelectric effect is unveiled using crystal chemistry method.
